Partnership expands opportunities to give kids the fundamentals for a lifetime of physical activity - ST. LOUIS, Mo., April 3, 2014 — USA Track & Field (USATF) and The Hershey Company today announced the launch of a national youth activity initiative as part of a new, seven-year partnership that features “Run Jump Throw,”an educational and learning program developed by USATF and Hershey. The new program will introduce kids ages 7 through 12 to the basic skills of running, jumping and throwing through track and field. Hershey’s Track & Field Games, a youth track and field program launched in the 1970s, will transition to the national Run Jump Throw programin early 2015.
Program logs two million miles run and surpasses its goal of 15,000 students in a school year - Carmel, CA -- JUST RUN, the youth fitness program administered by the Big Sur International Marathon, surpassed two milestones in a single week. In late March, nearly nine years since its inception, two million miles were logged into the system. Within days, the program surpassed another goal of reaching 15,000 children in a single school year.

Concurrent launch of new Web site simplifies certification application process. January 27, 2014 – Portland, OR: Executive Director Keith Peters announced today that the Council for Responsible Sport recently updated its certification standards in an effort to make them applicable to a broader range of sports events. Peters also unveiled the organization’s new Web site, which features an Instagram gallery dedicated to pictures that show what #responsiblesport looks like.
“Version 4.1 of our certification standards have been two years in the making,” said Peters. “As soon as we introduced version three of our certification standards in January 2012, we set out to improve upon them. We knew we had work to do to make sure our certification program is as relevant to a professional golf event like the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am as it is to Bike New York’s TD Five Boro Bike Tour or the Cincinnati Zoo’s Cheetah Run.”
