Dathan Ritzenhein had a superb end to 2012: he placed ninth with a two minute, five second PB at the Bank of America Chicago marathon. Dathan ran 2:07.47, running a very calculated race, showing him and his coach, Alberto Salazar, that the marathon is a place for Ritz to put some focus.
Ritzenhein has been running fast since he was a sophomore in high school. His college years, spent at the University of Colorado were challenged by injuries. His post collegiate career, under the watchful eye of first, Brad Hudson, then, Alberto Salazar, showed moments of brilliance and moments of frustration. Interview Here
