Fast wins for Keitany and Regassa in Abu Dhabi Half

from IAAF - World champion Mary Keitany of Kenya and Tilahun Regassa of Ethiopia produced fast victories at the Zayed International Half Marathon, held yesterday (7 Jan) in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Keitany, who cruised to the world title over the distance in Birmingham last autumn, dominated the proceedings clocking 1:07:14, more than two minutes clear of her nearest rival.

Kentucky Derby Festival Announces Course Changes for 2010

LOUISVILLE, Ky.– The Kentucky Derby Festival announces changes to the race route of the 2010 Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon, presented by Walmart. The races, which will begin simultaneously at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, will now start near Iroquois Manor Shopping Center and will finish at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville, a 500,000-square-foot entertainment venue located within Waterfront Park. The Marathon course will also include a slightly longer loop in Jeffersonville, Ind., with competitors running alongside the Ohio River.

Hospital Hill Run Registration Numbers Increase By 248%

Wanjiru, Mikitenko Return to Defend London Marathon Titles in 2010

LONDON - Reigning race champions Sammy Wanjiru and Irina Mikitenko will return to defend their London Marathon titles on Sunday, April 25 against two of the strongest fields ever assembled in the 29-year history of the race.

Virgin London Marathon race director David Bedford said: "We are delighted to welcome our two champions back to head such high quality races. These elite fields are as good as any we've had in the previous 29 London Marathons, and I am sure they will produce two superb contests for the London crowds."
