Registration for the 2010 Boston Marathon Has Closed

Registration for the 2010 Boston Marathon has closed - the storied race's earliest closing ever. Registration began on September 9, 2009, and the Boston Athletic Association is unable to accept additional entries (the race field is 25,000).

The 114th running of the Boston Marathon - the world's oldest and most prestigious annual marathon - will take place on Monday, April 19, 2010, Patriots' Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The 2010 Boston Marathon will mark John Hancock Financial's 25th consecutive year as principal sponsor of the event. It is also anticipated that participants in next year's race will exceed the $100 million milestone in terms of total funds raised for charities since the B.A.A.'s Official Charity Program commenced in 1989.

Team USA Minnesota Men Place 2nd, 3rd, 4th in USA 10 Mile Championship; Kristen Nicolini Lehmkuhle Debuts in 2:35 to Take 3rd

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Oct. 4, 2009 - The three Team USA Minnesota men among the competitors at the USA 10 Mile Championship took second, third and fourth place at the race held today in conjunction with the Medtronic TC 10 Mile. Josh Moen finished second in 46:38 (first place was 46:35), Patrick Smyth was third in 47:09, and Jason Lehmkuhle was fourth in 47:16. All three ran personal bests in the 10 mile distance and also ran under the race record of 47:34.

Abdirahman, Paulson win USA titles in Twin Cities

from USATF - MINNEAPOLIS - Abdi Abdirahman (Tucson, Ariz.) won his fourth USA 10 Mile title and Ilsa Paulson (New York, N.Y.) won her first ever U.S. title in winning the USA Women's Marathon Championship Sunday as the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon hosted the championships for the USA Women's Marathon, Masters Marathon and Men's 10 Miles. Abdirahman ran 46:35 for his second championship of the year as Paulson ran 2:31:49 to become the second youngest women to ever win the women's marathon crown.

Colleen De Reuck Places Second, Wins USA Women’s Masters Championship; 29 Women Qualify for 2012 Women’s Marathon Olympic Trials - (St. Paul, Minn.) – A twenty-five year age difference separated the first and second place winners of the 2009 USA Women’s Marathon Championship today at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. Ilsa Paulson, 20, of New York City, won the title with a finishing time of 2:31:49. Colleen De Reuck, 45, of Boulder, Colo., placed second with a time of 2:32:37; De Reuck also won the USA Women’s Masters Championship. The championship events were part of the 28th Annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, which started in downtown Minneapolis and finished at the state capitol in St. Paul, Minn.
