Four Team USA Minnesota Runners Head to California to Compete in Track Meets April 20; Results from Boston Races on April 15

Minneapolis/St. Paul – April 18, 2012 – Four Team USA Minnesota runners – Chris Rombough, Matt Llano, Meghan Peyton and Jamie Cheever - will travel to California to compete in the Mt. SAC Relays or at the Bryan Clay Invitational, with both meets scheduled for Friday, April 20.

At the 54th annual Mt. SAC Relays, which will be held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the campus of Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif., Rombough, Llano and Peyton will each compete in the 5000 meters. Rombough has a best in the distance of 13:42.05, Llano has run 14:00.01 and Peyton has posted 15:41.1.

Cheever will compete in the 1500 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational, which will be held at Cougar Athletic Stadium on the campus of Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. Cheever has a best of 4:22 in the distance.

Next up for Llano, Peyton and Cheever will be the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford, which will be held on April 29. At that meet, Llano and Peyton will compete in the 10,000 meters and Cheever will do the steeplechase.

Boston Race Results – April 15

During Boston Marathon weekend, Gabriele Anderson finished third in the Boston Invitational Mile held on Sunday, April 15. Her time in her season opener was 4:46. Anderson’s next race will be the Grand Blue Mile in Des Moines on April 24.

Also on the day before the 116th marathon, Andrew Carlson was 11th in the fourth annual B.A.A. 5k with a time of 14:01. Next up for Carlson will be the 10,000 meters at the Payton Jordan Invitational on April 29.
