Returning to the Grand Blue Mile for the fifth time, Kampf won the women’s professional mile race with a time of 4:35.75 on a blustery and cool evening. Last year she set the course record of 4:32.62.
Race Results – Mt. SAC Relays and B.A.A. Invitational Mile
Jon Peterson competed in the top heat of the men’s 1500 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., on April 17 and finished eighth with a time of 3:44.90, just 2 seconds off his personal best. Next up for Peterson will be the Payton Jordan Invitational on May 2 where he will run the 5000 meters.
At the B.A.A. Invitational Mile in Boston on April 18, Heather Kampf was second in 4:37.0 and Gabriele Grunewald was fifth in 4:43.4. The seventh annual mile race was held two days before the Boston Marathon.
