Heather Kampf to Compete at Boston Games June 17; Rob Molke to Run Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon June 18; Biya Simbassa Posts 5000m PR of 13:29 at Portland Meet

Minneapolis/St. Paul – June 14, 2016 – Team USA Minnesota’s Heather Kampf will compete in the 800 meters at the adidas Boost Boston Games on June 17, while Rob Molke will head to Duluth to run the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon on June 18. Kampf has run 2:00.04 in the 800 meters and will use the Boston Games as her final race before competing in the 1500 meters at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials July 1-10.  The Friday evening Boston meet will be held at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, with races starting at 5:45 p.m. (Eastern). Molke has a best in the half marathon of 1:03:27 and will be among the elite field in the race which starts at 6:15 a.m.  There are 7,500 runners entered in the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.

{UNIVERSA}Portland Track Festival Results

Biya Simbassa posted a personal best of 13:29.51 and placed fifth in Section 1 of the men’s 5000 meter race at the Portland Track Festival on June 12.  His previous best was 13:37.86 which he set in April.  This spring he has improved his 5000 meter time by 32 seconds having started with a best of 14:01 in the distance, a time he set while he was at the University of Oklahoma.

Also competing at the Portland meet was Meghan Peyton who ran in the women’s 10,000 meter race on June 11 and finished 12th in 33:04.
