Kampf has qualified for the women’s 1500 meters with a time of 4:05.31. The first round of the 1500m will be held at 8:05 p.m. on June 22, with the final scheduled two days later at 2:12 p.m. Kampf is a University of Minnesota alum
Cheever, also a University of Minnesota alum, will compete in the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase. The first round will be contested on June 22 at 7:13 p.m., and the final will be held on June 24 at 2:24 p.m. Cheever qualified with a time of 9:47.70 in the steeple.
Peyton and Lewis, both graduates of the University of Iowa, will be among the distance runners competing in the 10,000 meters on June 22. Peyton qualified for the women’s 10,000m with a time of 33:04.29 – the race will be held at 8:27 p.m. Lewis, with a qualifying time of 28:56.66, will compete in the men’s 10,000m at 9:09 p.m.
All times listed are Pacific. The weather forecast for the Sacramento area will be extremely hot, with temperatures reaching 109 on Thursday, and 102 on Friday and Saturday during the Championships.
Ryan Rutherford finished sixth at the Steamboat Classic 4 Mile road race that was held in Peoria on June 17. His time was 19:05.
