Jon Grey, Heather Kampf to Compete at Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge in Scotland Jan. 10

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Jan. 6, 2015 – Team USA Minnesota’s Jon Grey and Heather Kampf have been named to the U.S. team that will compete at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge in Scotland on Jan. 10. Grey will be a member of the senior men’s team that will compete in the 8k, while Kampf will run in the 2 x 1k international mixed relay.  Grey’s selection resulted from his seventh place finish at the USATF National Club Cross Country Championships on Dec. 13.  Kampf is one of the country’s top milers and has been paired with U.S. runner Ben True for the relay.

Grey was the 2011 Club Cross Country 10k Champion and was on the U.S. team that competed in Edinburgh in 2012, when he placed fourth overall.  Kampf is a two-time USA 1 Mile Road Champion (2012 and 2014) and represented the U.S. in the 1500 meters at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Poland.

This will be the 26th staging of the Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge, which features a match between Britain, Europe and the United States.  The event is held in Holyrood Park.
