From an international perspective, much of the attention at the Oxy High Performance meeting in Los Angeles was understandably on Great Britain’s Olympic hero Mo Farah but he was rather upstaged by US prodigy Mary Cain on Friday night (17).

38 Olympic medallists added to Rome line-up – IAAF Diamond League

Olympic champions Allyson Felix, Brittney Reese and Christian Taylor are just some of the latest athletes to commit to Rome’s Golden Gala on 6 June, the fifth leg of the IAAF Diamond League.

In all, 38 medallists from the 2012 London Olympics will feature at the Golden Gala, which will this year be held in the honour of 1980 Olympic 200m champion Pietro Mennea, who died earlier in 2013.

Reese, Whiting perform big as Diamond League season kicks off in Doha

Brittney Reese and Ryan Whiting both got their Diamond League seasons off to a strong start Friday as each recorded meet records and world-leading marks in their respective events in Doha. Doha marked the official start to the Diamond League season, which will include a total of 14 meets during the 2013 season.

INDIANAPOLIS - Queen Harrison (Clemson, S.C.) has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the Week after defeating a loaded field in the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday.
