XTERRA Heads to San Diego for Mission Trail Run

Race is No. Five in 2010 XTERRA SoCAL Trail Run Series - SAN DIEGO – After the 2009 race sold out with more than 600 runners, the XTERRA Mission Gorge Trail Run is back and bigger than ever returning to San Diego’s Mission Trails Regional Park on Sunday, Feb 7, 2010.

Athletes like Heather Fuhr and Paula Newby-Fraser set the bar high with their record-breaking performances here in 2009. The 15K features what race directors refer to as the “thousand steps," and there is also a 5K fun run with trails around the 5,800 acre park’s old dam.

XTERRA’s SoCal athletes will not want to miss out on their fifth of seven opportunities to add season points to their 2010 totals in the Trail Run Series. Those ending the season with the highest scores will earn the title of XTERRA Regional Champion and be awarded free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship in Fall 2010.

Runners should also remember that theXTERRA Crystal Cove Trail Run in Laguna Beach is coming up on Jan 24, 2010 after a December rain delay. For complete details about the 2010 XTERRA SoCal Trail Run Series, visit
