As Cregg Weinmann, the RN footwear editor, sat behind me during the Trials each day, I asked him to keep track of the medals and places won by various footwear brands.

The steam is building for the 19th Northern Central Trail Marathon and the 13th Two-Person Relay, Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. The out-and-back course travels along the Northern Central Railroad Trail (NCRT) through rural and scenic northern Baltimore County.

RJGPwinners.jpg July 2008. The Running Journal Grand Prix ended its 10-race series with the running of the Cotton Row 10K in Huntsville, AL, on Memorial Day. The season started with a nighttime race at Maggie Valley, NC, in August where runners competed in the Maggie Valley 8K.

The Danskin Women's Triathlon Series, the largest and longest running women's multi-sport event in the world, continued the 2008 season with 3,875 women participating in the year's fifth race which was held in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

Top finishers were Mohamed Awol, 29, Bronx NY in 24:24 and Julie Culley, 26, Arlington VA who crossed the finish line in 26:58.

July 21, 2008 Matt Carpenter of Manitou Springs won the 9th Annual Barr Trail Mountain Race in a time of 1 hour, 33 minutes, 27 seconds. Carpenter, 43, has now won five consecutive Barr Trail races and seven of the nine races since the event began in 2000. "From a running stand point it's always nice to win, but this race is about much more than that," Carpenter said.
