The USATF LA Grand Prix was a fantastic event. Hosted by USC at the Allyson Felix Track complex, among the fine competitors was Tara Davis-Woodhall. Tara completed an amazing double, producing two personal bests: one in the 100m hurdles and one in the long jump. Tara Davis-Woodhall is a superb athlete, sought-after sports entertainer, and well-respected content creator! Her jumping, which has given he global medals in the World Championships and Olympics, makes her a very popular athlete. But, it is the way that she and husband, paralympian Hunter Woodhall, engage the audience that makes them favorites with the crowds and the meet promoters. Tara and Hunter bring the fans into the "inner sanctum" of competition!
In LA, for example, Tara ran her first 100-meter hurdles in a year. In that race, from the very inside, Tara Davis Woodhall hurdled well after a good start and took second in a field with a former World record holder and global medalists, setting a fine PB of 12.47!
Coming back in the long jump, Tara Davis-Woodhall produced one of the finest series of her career! Tara Davis-Woodhall capitalized on a fast runway, leaping a PB of 7.20 meters (23 feet, 7.46 inches) for a legal (+1.2m/s) first jump. Tara then leaped 7.09 meters, wind-aided, 7.25 meters, wind-aided, 7.15m, wind-aided, and finally a pass and 6.85 meters, again, wind-aided.
