Mizuno Inks Four-Year Deal with Runner Jason Schoener
Second American Finisher at 2008 Boston Marathon Joins Mizuno Race Team (Press Release, Norcross, GA (February 25, 2009) – Mizuno USA, Inc., a leader in high performance running footwear and apparel, has announced today that the company has signed a four-year endorsement deal with runner Jason Schoener. Schoener is the third agreement for Mizuno in the past few months, having signed endorsement deals with runners Megan Hepp and Antonio Vega at the end of 2008.
Schoener ran for the College of William & Mary Tribe, where he was a three-time member of the All-Colonial Athletic Association Team, and a 4-time All-East Conference member. He won the 10,000m Penn Relays Championship in 2005. At the 2008 Boston Marathon, Schoener was the second American finisher, and placed 14th overall.
“Jason Schoener had a very successful track and cross country career at the College of William and Mary, and has now dedicated his focus to the marathon,” said Ron Wayne, Running Promotions Manager, Mizuno USA. “After finishing as the 2nd American in the 2008 Boston Marathon, Jason has set a goal to compete in the marathon event in the 2012 London Olympics. Schoener resides in Richmond, Virginia. He is currently enrolled in dentistry school at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he is scheduled to graduate in 2011.
