Run For One Planet Founders Embark on 11,000 Mile Run Across North America

February 2008 - Run For One Planet co-founders, actor Matt Hill and National speaker Stephanie Tait, prepare to embark on an 11,000 mile (17,700 kms) run across North America for one year, determined to inspire environmental action starting May 4, 2008.
Actor Matt Hill has worked with legends such as Jackie Chan in 'Shanghai Nights' and can be heard as the voice in animation shows including YTV's 'Being Ian', Rafael in the 'Ninja Turtles', and Cartoon Networks 'Ed, Edd, and Eddy'. Matt is also a seven-time IRONMAN competitor. Stephanie Tait is recognized internationally as a national speaker and personal success coach, who has received numerous awards in honor of her outstanding achievements. Matt and Stephanie now share a new passion together, 'Run For One Planet'.
Run For One Planet's goal is to inspire one million North Americans to commit to one new environmentally friendly habit, to raise one million dollars in the fight against global warming and to bring about one million new actions for the Earth each step of the way. Matt states, "It is our vision that the daily action of us running for one year will inspire other North Americans to take steps to help the environment. One person, one action, one step at a time".
Run For One Planet's 2008/2009 North America Tour is being funded by generous, green, community-oriented businesses, groups, family and friends who believe in the vision of Run for One Planet. Local and national sponsors include ASICS, Cascadia Biofuels, Planet Organic Markets, Home Depot, TELUS, Capers Whole Foods Market, Happy Planet foods and Eco Apparel Clothing. Supporters and sponsors will also be able to monitor Run For One Planet's progress via My Athlete GPS devices, a service that has been provided for the length of the 2008/2009 North America Tour.
